If you’re a fan of unique slots with nostalgic charm and a sporting twist, Golden Tour on Mega888 is one of the most refreshingly quirky picks available today. Developed by Playtech, this five-reel classic brings golf to the reels with an immersive 97.7% RTP, wins in both directions, and a skill-style bonus game triggered by animal-themed scatters.

Whether you play for the relaxing visuals or the potential for 2000x wins, Golden Tour is a standout among Mega888’s low-volatility slot collection. Read on to learn how it works and why Malaysian players love its simple yet strategic design.

What Is Golden Tour on Mega888?

Golden Tour Mega888 is a 5×3 reel slot with only 5 paylines, but it’s full of character and retro style. Originally released in 2012 by Playtech, it has remained a favorite for players who appreciate bonus mini-games, quirky themes, and low-stakes fun.

With payouts up to 2000x, a bonus feature based on selecting golf clubs, and paylines that pay both ways, Golden Tour has more depth than its minimalist layout suggests. Its simple interface and low minimum bet also make it a perfect option for beginners or mobile users playing on Mega888-supported casinos.

Core Game Features & Layout

Golden Tour is far from flashy, but it offers consistent entertainment and a rare, well-designed bonus round. Here’s what sets it apart:

Low Minimum Bet with Adjustable Lines

Players can wager from as little as RM0.05, adjusting from 1 to 5 paylines and setting stakes per line — a rare flexibility on Mega888 games.

Both-Way Paylines

Although there are only five paylines, they pay left-to-right and right-to-left, doubling your chances on each spin.

Wild Symbols

The yellow golf ball pair acts as the game’s wild, substituting for the white and orange balls to complete line wins.

Scatter Symbols

Unlike other games, Golden Tour uses three animal-themed scatter symbols: the gopher, duck, and catfish. Landing three or more of the same animal on consecutive reels triggers the unique Golf Bonus Game.

Bonus Game: Club Pick Feature

The highlight of Golden Tour Mega888 is its interactive bonus game, activated when three or more identical scatter animals land on adjacent reels. Here’s how it works:

  1. Pick Three Clubs: Choose a driver, iron, and putter — no golf knowledge needed!
  2. Watch the Shots: The golfer hits balls based on your club selection, leading to different cash prize outcomes.
  3. Multiplier Applied: The more scatters you landed (up to five), the higher the win multiplier applied to your prize (1x, 3x, or 10x).

The result is a mini-game experience that blends luck and entertainment — ideal for casual gamers looking for more than just spins.

Payouts and Symbol Overview

Even with only five paylines, Golden Tour delivers decent payouts and potential win multipliers when you combine line wins with the bonus feature.

Top Symbols:

  • White Golf Ball – Up to 1000x your line bet for 5
  • Orange Golf Ball – Mid-tier payouts
  • Golf Cart, Bag, Flag, Pint, Golf Shoes – Pay between 2x to 200x
  • Wild Yellow Golf Balls – Substitute & enhance combinations
  • Scatter Animals – Unlock the bonus round

The max win in the base game is 2000x your stake, a respectable figure for a low- to medium-volatility title. It doesn’t have free spins, but its bonus game is arguably more creative than many standard spin features.

RTP, Volatility & Betting Range

Golden Tour is designed for relaxed, long-session gameplay and suits players who enjoy classic slots with frequent small wins.

  • RTP: 97.7% – One of the highest on Mega888
  • Volatility: Low to Medium
  • Paylines: 5 (win both ways)
  • Bet Range: RM0.05 to RM25 per spin
  • Top Win: 2000x total stake

Winning Tips & Gameplay Strategy

  • Play with all 5 paylines active. Since wins count both ways, it significantly improves your odds.
  • Bet small and aim for the bonus. With high RTP and low volatility, the key to bigger wins is landing bonus games multiple times.
